Mindfulness

What is Mindfulness?

By becoming more aware of our thoughts, feelings and bodily sensations from moment to moment, we give ourselves the possibility of greater freedom and choice; we do not have to go down the same old’ mental ruts’ that may have caused problems in the past.

A definition:

“the awareness that emerges through paying attention on purpose in the present moment and non-judgementally to things as they are.”

Williams, Teasdale, Segal and Kabat-Zinn (2007)

I have pursued Mindfulness since 2014 both in my own personal practice and using mindfulness techniques with my clients. I have a professional approach to mindfulness as I have to my practice in psychotherapy and am fully supervised by a Mindfulness teacher on the UK list of Mindfulness Teachers. Please see the home page for my formal qualifications.

MBCT Courses

I offer an 8 week mindfulness course building skills from week to week combining meditation practice, discussion and information. The aim of this program is to increase awareness, so that we can respond to situations with choice rather than react automatically. We do that by practicing to become more aware of where our attention is, and deliberately changing the focus of attention, over and over again.

Mindfulness Retreats in Almeria, Spain

Anyone who has completed an MBCT course is invited to join us for a 5-day mindfulness retreat at a wonderful Cortijo in the countryside of Almeria. Along with 2 sessions a day, a vegetarian menu, there's a private swimming pool, citrus orchards and scenic walks.
